This instructor-led training provides an interactive training presentation that engages all participants, a written exam to ensure understanding of the material and hands-on practice with the machine(s). The classroom portion focuses on key information needed for safe operation of an elevating work platform. The hands-on portion provides the opportunity to practice effective inspection and operation skills in a safe environment, under the direct observation of a professional instructor. Operator skills will be evaluated using industry standards. The training is not make or model specific but covers concepts common to most types of aerial and elevating work platforms.
Pre-Requisites: Valid Ontario Driver’s License + Working at Heights Certification
Course Length: ½ Day
Upon completion of this training program, participants will be knowledgeable and demonstrate proficiency in:
- Current applicable legislation
- Causes of accidents/injury and hazard awareness
- Operator responsibility
- Pedestrian awareness
- Fall protection (System components, fit and anchor points)
- Control systems
- Safe Work Procedures
- Pre-shift inspection and reporting procedures
- Work site inspection
- Rescue Planning
Successful learners will be issued a wallet card and employers will be provided a Record of Training listing the course and the participants who were successfully certified.
